When you are Filipino and Catholic, Lourdes is a major destination when visiting Europe.
When I was about 9 years old my father brought my sister and I to Lourdes, France. We visited the stone shrine where Saint Bernadette had her visions and conversations with the Virgin Mary.
I remember all the people in prayer and seeing wheel chairs, walkers and canes left behind. There were so many people who believe and are healed from the holy water that comes from the shrines in Lourdes, France.
When you see these picture what do you see? Where do you think it was taken?
They have been welcoming guests of all races, denominations, ages to visit, meditate and pray.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We decided to take the “Prayer walk – Stations of the cross” where you can see sculptures of Jesus.
At the end of the peaceful and hilly walk you will find yourself at the foot of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
I highly recommend a visit to Lourdes in Litchfield. It is such a peaceful and special place.
As usual we found ourselves “playing tourist in our own backyard”. We are firm believers that if you can’t love and enjoy where you are living right now, how can you truly appreciate life and visiting abroad?
Lourdes in France is amazing and beautiful. Lourdes in Litchfield is a must see in Connecticut.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
