About

The past.  We were so young!
In 2011 the kids were young and wanted to be all over us!

The present…2023.
It is now 2023.  I am reading my past blog posts and republishing them.  It’s like present me is meeting past me!  Let’s take this journey together!
I Choose Happy Now no longer is around.  I don’t have the domain name any longer, but I am starting a new website and blog called Cheerslouise.com
In Cheers Louise you will see a little bit of my doodles, ideas and how it is to live with teenagers.
The information below was originally published on 8/19/11!  It’s been 12 years!!  My kids were just little when I was writing the blog, now they are teenagers and I am now middle age!  Looking back will be fun.
Here is a little something about me in 2011:

I wear many hats, figuratively speaking.  I am a Mom of 2 boys under the age of 4, wife of a restaurant owner, CEO of Household affairs, Mediator of all things domestic, avid thrift shopper, occasional Ebayer, to name a few.

In my many roles I have different experiences that have brought me highs and also lows.  I don’t want to talk about the downers.  I hear about them too often.

It is time to pass on the happy messages.  “I choose happy now” as my theme because happiness can be as contagious as negative words.

“I choose happy now” is also my mantra when I am starting to see myself get complainy, blue or blah.   I just say the phrase “I choose happy now” to remind myself that happiness is a choice and I can choose to be happy rather than sad.

I hope to find like minded people who want to be positive and think happy thoughts.  Please feel free to send through your great stories, comments and ideas!

Here are some pictures of me and my crazy guys!

  1. An Idealist Thinker

Hi, I am glad to have found your blog especially since my recent post was on similar lines.. nice to see similar thinking people.
Cheers to being happy & spreading it ! 🙂

  2. An Idealist Thinker

And you made mine, Louise !!
..especially since I wrote that just today.. feeling encouraged 🙂

How do I add a link to your blog from mine?

    • Hi! I am new to WordPress so I am not quite sure. I think you go to your dashboard and look at the left column. There is a section called “Links”. Once you press it you should be able to add a link!

      Cheers,
      Louise

  3. Your “intro” is a WOW.

I just want you to know that your mantra is infectious. And such should be in this world full of pessimistic people. Like you, I also choose to highlight bright things that happened and may happen in my journeys, especially outdoors (on the shoulders and heads of the mountains). I want to infect people with “mountain climbing bug” because of the invaluable lessons one may get up and down the mountains.

Here’s a glimpse of my climbing notes:

Amid The Rains And Darkness At Mount Marami

Continue chanting your mantra … The world needs it. You know that:-)

    • Thank you! What a compliment! I really think your blog makes you want to go hiking and see our beautiful Philippines!

Seeing your pictures makes me see it from another perspective.

      Yeah to positive blogging!

      Cheers,
      Louise

  5. So refreshing to see such a positive outlook on things! I love your blog. I try to find the humor in most situations. I prefer to laugh, makes life that much sweeter. Anyway, enjoy wordpress and keep on writing. 🙂

    • Hi! Miracle mama! I am the same with you about trying to find the humor in thngs. Of course sometimes it is easy to “lose it”, but I end up feeling better when I laugh at something. I look forward to reading more of your blog!

      Cheers,
      Louise

  6. Lisa (Woman Wielding Words)

I love your blog title and your attitude. I’m trying to work on focusing on the Happy, and you may help me along the way. Thanks for visiting my blog so I could discover you. That makes me happy.

  7. I am so glad you found my blog, because now I will be able to enjoy yours! I love the concept behind your posts; excellent idea! I am sure I will be able to visit here frequently and find ways to brighten my mood…. on those days that I need a lift the most! Being a SAHMomma is challenging for sure- but as most challenging jobs, the rewards are worth the battles we go through.

    • Hi! I totally agree that being a stay at home has it’s challenges, especially since kids have minds of their own. The rewards still out weigh the negatives. This blog has allowed me to concentrate on the positive things. The negative stuff naturally occurs, but I keep those bumps to myself because I feel that people have enough stress in their own life. I don’t want to burden them with my issues. It is so great to be in touch.

      Cheers,
      Louise

  12. Hi! I came across your blog in one of the comments you made. I too chose to be happy. Like you, i’m still a newbie in blogging and it has empowered me to be who I am meant to be: Happy, passionate and enthusiastic about life. Sure, everybody has struggles. But I don’t want to be among those people who are whining all the time. I just think it takes the life out of you, slowly.

    Thanks for this great blog!

    • Hi! Thanks for visiting. We newbies have to unite! I too feel empowered with blogging. I never realized how it has given me a voice I never thought I could have.
